Putting Egyptian Work on Record

Publication has been part of ESSHM since before the Society formally existed. Professor Wael Mansour Fahmy established Egypt’s annual hand surgery journal, The Hand, as a platform for scientific exchange at a time when Egyptian work in the field had few outlets.

Egyptian hand surgery produces more work than is visible internationally. Much of it appears in journals with limited regional reach, or is presented at the annual congress and never indexed. Collecting it here makes national output legible — to members, to trainees choosing where to train, and to the federations the Society reports to.
