Get Involved

The Society’s programme is delivered by its members. Committee service is how it gets done.

Committee Service

Every course, congress session and guidance document is produced by members giving time. The Society’s standing committees cover the scientific programme, education and training, research, membership, fellowships and international relations.

Members interested in serving are invited to indicate their preference to the Society office. Appointments are made by the Executive Board, and terms are fixed.

Teach

Faculty are needed for instructional courses, laboratory sessions and cadaveric programmes. Senior members carry an obligation to those in training, and course teaching is the most direct way to meet it.

Mentor

Trainees seeking guidance are matched with senior members through the Education Committee. Mentors commit to periodic contact across a training year.

Contribute to the Programme

  • Submit an abstract for the annual congress
  • Propose or present a webinar case
  • Contribute operative recordings to the video library
  • Participate in guideline and consensus working groups

Represent the Society

Members are appointed to represent ESSHM at federation meetings and with partner societies abroad. Expressions of interest are welcome from members with an established international profile.
