Support for member-led clinical and laboratory research in hand surgery and microsurgery.
Most research in Egyptian hand surgery is unfunded, carried out alongside a full clinical workload with no budget for statistical support, imaging, consumables or publication charges. Small sums remove exactly those obstacles, and small sums are what a national society can realistically provide.
Applications addressing questions of direct relevance to Egyptian practice would be prioritised — outcomes in local settings, health economics of hand trauma, service configuration, and studies feasible within the resources of Egyptian units.
Collaborative applications spanning more than one centre would be particularly encouraged. Multi-centre studies produce the sample sizes single Egyptian units cannot reach alone, and are the clearest route to raising the international standing of national output.
