Prof. Wael Mansour Fahmy
Regarded in ESSHM’s historical record as the “Godfather of Hand Surgery in Egypt,” he trained with Guy Pulvertaft in the United Kingdom, established the Maadi replantation laboratory in 1970 and microsurgery laboratory in 1979, founded the Eastern Mediterranean Hand Society, and was honoured as an IFSSH Pioneer of Hand Surgery in 1998.

Prof. Nash H. Naam, MD
Honorary President and Founding Visionary of ESSHM. Former President of the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS, 2020–2022) and the American Society for Peripheral Nerve (ASPN, 2014–2015). His vision for a national society helped bring Egypt’s hand-surgery community together, and he established the annual Nash Naam Award for junior Egyptian hand surgeons.

Invitation letters
Available to registered delegates. A letter confirms registration only and does not guarantee a visa. Cairo International Airport is the main gateway.
Accommodation

Founded by Prof. Nash H. Naam, this annual US$1,000 research prize honours the best presentation by an Egyptian junior hand surgeon at the ESSHM International Conference.
