President, Egyptian Society for Surgery of the Hand and Microsurgery
Professor Ahmed Fathy Sadek is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Faculty of Medicine, Minia University, and has headed the Faculty’s Hand and Microsurgery Unit since March 2012. He was elected President of ESSHM in May 2026, having served on the Society’s Executive Board since 2018.
He trained as a visiting fellow in reconstructive microsurgery at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia from 2008 to 2009, and was appointed to his professorship at Minia University in 2022.
Editor, International Journal of Sports Science and Medicine.
Peer reviewer for BMC, the International Journal of Sports Science and Medicine, the Journal of Hand and Microsurgery, and the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research.
Author of 44 national and international peer-reviewed publications since 2013, and co-author of a chapter in Current Practice in Hand Surgery, edited by Jin Bo Tang.
The Executive Board comprises the President, General Secretary, Treasurer and elected board members, serving fixed terms under the Society’s constitution.
The Society records the service of those who have led it since its establishment in 2007.
