Mission, Vision & Values
Advancing the science and art of hand surgery and microsurgery in Egypt, and supporting the surgeons and therapists who practise it.
Advancing the science and art of hand surgery and microsurgery in Egypt, and supporting the surgeons and therapists who practise it.
To advance the science and art of hand surgery and microsurgery; to support lifelong education; to strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration; to expand fellowship opportunities; to encourage research and innovation; and to inspire the next generation of surgeons and therapists.
A national community of hand and microsurgeons whose training, standards and scientific output are recognised internationally — and through whom every patient in Egypt with a hand or upper limb injury can reach expert care.
The Society was built on training. Courses, workshops and cadaveric programmes remain the core of what ESSHM offers its members.
Practice guided by evidence, and research held to international standards of design, reporting and peer review.
Hand surgery sits between orthopaedics, plastic surgery, therapy and nursing. The Society brings those disciplines together rather than separating them.
Senior members carry an obligation to those in training. Fellowship, supervision and the deliberate transfer of skill are how the specialty sustains itself.
The Society exists for its members and, through them, for patients across Egypt.
